Visiting, Living, & Working in the City of Valley

Valley is in East Central Alabama along the banks of the beautiful Chattahoochee River and is one of a few towns in Alabama that is on Eastern Standard Time.

Established as a city in 1980, Valley was created from four mill towns. The pride that existed between the four mill villages that came to be known Valley is still alive and flourishing today.

Education, health and safety, recreation and leisure, arts and entertainment, religion, environment, and history are all qualities of Valley, a city that plans while celebrating its past.

Shopping/Entertainment

Valley has a wonderful mixture of chain stores and family-owned businesses. Chained stores include Walmart, Ace Hardware, and Marvins Building Materials. Valley is also the home to locally owned businesses such as Timeless Antiques and Flea Market, Chambley’s Bait and Tackle, Ponders Nursery, Givorns Foods, and River Market Shopping Mall.

When looking for entertainment, we have Valley Bowl, where the owners have held onto nostalgia by keeping and maintaining the original wood lanes and equipment. The Skatin’ Rink also has Friday and Saturday sessions, Laser Tag Thursdays, and Party Packages.
