Public Works

The Public Works Department is responsible for maintaining the city's infrastructure - roads, sidewalks, rights-of-way, trees, buildings and grounds. Cost control, quality assurance, and coverage of the entire city area are daily problems for department management.

The Public Works Department Complex is located at 5220 Fairfax Bypass and consists of 25 employees under the direction of John McConnell. Hours of operation are 7AM - 5:30PM EST Monday through Thursday.

Mosquito Eradication Program

MOSQUITO ERADICATION PROGRAM (334) 756-5233

The Mosquito Eradication Program helps to prevent the West Nile Virus from infecting the Valley area. Normally, the streets are sprayed from June through September. Citizens are asked to take a proactive approach and keep yards free from standing water.
