Community
Valley is
located in East Central Alabama along the banks of the beautiful Chattahoochee
River, which most of the citizens take for granted since the ‘Hooch’ has been a
part of them from the time they were born. When you grow up with something, you
really don’t appreciate what you have because you just assume everyone has one.
But, you find out later, that every city doesn’t have their own River and the
ones that do are truly blessed. The City of Valley, Alabama is one of these
cities.
Webster defines
community as ‘a body of people living in the same place under the same laws’.
However, Valley was a community long before it was a city and this
‘brotherhood’ that existed between the 4 mill villages that came together to
become Valley, is still alive and flourishing today.
Community
goes beyond Webster’s definition. Education, health and safety, recreation and
leisure, arts and entertainment, religion, environment, history - all go into
creating Valley, a community that looks to its future while celebrating its
past!
