Valley's Day On The River Festival & FBA Bar-B-Que Cook-Off
On May 20, 2010, the City of Valley will celebrate its 30th Anniversary. As part of our celebration, we will be having our 3rd Annual Valley Day on the River Festival on Saturday, May 22 at the Historic Shawmut Airport. This event has been a huge success the past 2 years with crowds of up to 9,000 people, and we're expecting an even bigger turnout this year!
The event will start at 12:00 noon EST and will feature a BBQ Cook-Off sanctioned by the Florida Bar-B-Que Association with "Bar-B-Que Experts" coming from across the Southeast to pit their BBQ against the "Best in the South". Other activities will include entertainment for children, craft booths, bingo, Horshoe Contest, Fishing Rodeo, and much, much more. During the day there will be live entertainment provided by Strokin Dixie, Jesse & The Stampede Band, and Razzy Bailey. A great day will end with a great concert featuring Houston County, Matt Kennon, and Lo Cash Cowboys.
