The Arts

A community has many needs. It needs places for its citizens to live and work, which are essential and basic requirements to exist. A community needs places for families to come together for recreation and socializing. It needs good schools providing a good education for its citizens and children to learn and grow. It also needs places of worship to feed the soul of the community. Valley has all this; however, there is another area that should not be overlooked if a city is to be considered a progressive and viable entity and that area is the Arts.

A community needs to take pleasure in the beauty and joy of the Arts. The City of Valley appreciates this and strives to make the Arts accessible to it citizenry. The Valley Arts Council assists in exposing the citizens of Valley to the Arts by bringing the Arts to the citizens in the form of art shows held periodically throughout the year. In addition, The Langdale Company brings a diverse group of entertainers, from the American Boys Choir to the Coasters, to the historic Langdale Theater to perform for the citizens of Valley and surrounding areas. Local theater groups also present drama, comedy, musicals, and other types of shows that are also held at the Historic Langdale Theater.
