Environmental Services

The Environmental Services Department was created in 2002 when the City of Valley signed a contract with Mr. Greenjeans of LaGrange, Georgia for them to provide collection of solid waste. Our partnership with Mr. Greenjeans allows the City of Valley to provide household garbage collection with more features and lower costs than any community in the area. In October of 2005, the City began a new service that is included in the present garbage service. Mr. Greenjeans now also picks up yard debris (limbs, leaves, brush clippings) and mixed debris (old furniture, appliances, bulky items) on an alternating weekly basis. Now, on the day when your regular household garbage is picked up, a separate truck will also pick up yard debris or mixed debris that is placed at curbside. The

Environmental Services office, which is located at City Hall, handles billing of solid waste collection that is done on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis. Payments may be mailed to P. O. Box 186, Valley, Alabama 36854 or made at City Hall. For your convenience, we have a Night Time Drop Box, located at the front of City Hall. You can also use our Automatic Debit and have your bill debited directly from your checking account. Come in and find out the details.
