At a special called meeting of the Valley City Council on Monday, April 30th, 2007, a proclamation was read proclaiming May 2007 as Older Americans Month. Many of Valley's senior citizens, who have contributed a lifetime of shaping the course of our society and preserving our freedom, were present at the presentation.
Millions of seniors have made the most of growing old an they continue to make valuable contributions to their families and their communities. These senior citizens have experienced and contributed to more dramatic social and technological changes in their lifetimes than any preceding generation.
The City of Valley would like to express our gratitude for their dedication, accomplishments and sacrifices and set aside this time to bestow honor upon them as a treasured segment of our population.
