Dining & Entertainment

Valley, Alabama is one of those well-kept entertainment and dining secrets of the South.

While we don’t have many nightclubs, concert halls, or stadiums, we’re close enough to areas that do to make it easy to find entertainment, if you want it.  We’re only an hour from Atlanta, 45 minutes from Montgomery, 30 minutes from Columbus, GA., and 20 minutes from Auburn University.  Now, we do have the historic Langdale Theater that brings in national touring acts to Valley and also stages productions by local theater groups; and, the Osanippa Creek Lodge, just across the county line, has top-notch bands playing on the week-ends.  But, if  you want to go to one of those places with more ‘craziness and stuff’, the great thing about it is, after you’ve had your fill of it, you can always come back home to the simple life, kick back, put your feet up, and watch the world go by.

We have some of the best 'down-home' cooking found in the East Alabama area. If you like bar-b-que, there's David's Bar-B-Que and Chuck's Bar-B-Que. But, they don't do just bar-b-que, they fix meals like your mama and gran' mama did.  And, there's Sue's Chick, which specailizes in 'down-home' cooking...fried chicken, macaronie and cheese, country fried steak, mashed potatoes and gravy...mmmmmm. And, there's 'Dell's Den' made famous by the 'John Boy and Billy' morning radio show. Dell's is a one-of-a-kind culinary experience! There's also Milano's for lovers of Italian cuisine, the Zen House, if your taste runs toward the oriental, and San Marcos Mexican Restaurant,  if you prefer a little salsa-style dining. And, don't forget catfish! Dale's Den is known for their fried catfish and David's Bar-B-Que has a Friday Nite All-You-Can-Eat Catfish Feast! These are just a few of the wonderful, southern-style, restaurants located in Valley, Alabama. Just remember, there's a difference in a chef and a cook - chefs are as concerned with the presentation as they are with the taste, cooks are all about the taste. In Valley, Alabama we have a lot of great cooks!

Now, remember this is a secret…so don’t tell anyone.
