Aloha:
I lived in Langdale as a child from 1970-75 while my Dad served in Thailand during the Vietnam war. My mother is a Japanese national and I can remember my elementary school teachers teaching my mother English as I went to school with her. Little things such as the merry go round, receiving a toy and a bag of fruit and nuts at the gym during Christmas was always exciting to us. As a young 18 year old I got my first taste of what it was like to work at the service center for West Point Pepperell during the summer of 83. It feels good to come home from time to time and to see friendly faces from a long time ago. As the years pass so have some of the friendly faces I miss so much.
Since I have been stationed in Hawaii since 1993 to present, it is difficult to visit as often as I would like. I have 1 year and 10 months left of active naval service. I found this web site to be very useful and informative. Not sure if I'll move back to the Valley but your web site is a valuable tool if I decide to make my transition back to the Valley as a civilian.
Aloha and Mahalo
