Recreation and Leisure
The City of Valley believes that a community that 'plays together, stays together' and this belief led to the construction of the Valley Community Center, a 54,000 sq.ft., state-of-the-art recreational facility. The Center has a fitness room, racquetball courts, indoor walking track, aquatic center, and a multi-use room that includes two full-sized basketball courts. In addition, there are rooms used for meetings, conferences, and get-togethers. Part of the City of Valley Community Center Complex is the Sportsplex which is surrounded by 5 multi-use athletic fields. There are also 6 lighted tennis courts available for everyone's use .
The Community Center is not the only recreational opportunity in Valley. A 7.1 mile walking trail (Rails-to-Trails), made from the rail bed of the Chattahoochee Valley Railroad Co.; parks and ball fields located in the Langdale, Shawmut, and Riverview communities; the Chattahoochee River, which offers great fishing, canoeing and kayaking, swimming, and beautiful scenery to enjoy - these are some of the other great recreational outlets in Valley.
For less strenuous leisure, the H. Grady Bradshaw Chambers County Library offers books, magazines, CDs, DVDs, and computers for 'surfing the Net'.
Stop by and join us in some leisurely recreation.
